Hollard Funeral Benefit and Scales

Definition
The Funeral Benefit pays out a lump sum in the event of death of a member, qualifying spouse or qualifying child to assist with Funeral costs.

Funeral Benefit scale example:
Main Member: R1000
Qualifying Spouse: R1000
Qualifying child aged 14-21 years: R1000
Qualifying child aged 6-13 years: R500
Qualifying child aged 1-5 years: R250
Qualifying child aged 0-11 months: R125
Stillborn child: R125

The funeral cover benefit is available from R5000 to R18000.

The maximum age for a qualifying child is under the age of 21, who is unmarried, financially dependent child of the main member. This will include a posthumous child, a stepchild, a legally fostered child, an adopted child and a stillborn child following 28 weeks of pregnancy.
The age may, at Hollards’ discretion, be extended to 25 age attained, in respect of an unmarried child who is a full time student at a registered educational institution or an unmarried, financially dependent child of the main member who is mentally disabled or permanently, totally physically disabled, whilst the main member is eligible for cover under this policy.

The maximum number of qualifying spouses is 1 and a maximum of 4 children.
