Capital Alliance Conversion Option

  • The conversion option can be exercised within 60 days from the date of withdrawal from the scheme, given the member is actively at work on the last day of service.
  • HIV test is required and a Cotinine test for non-smokers.
  • Members are covered for 30 days during the option period.
  • Premium must be paid for at least 12 months before a conversion option can be exercised.

Maximum age to convert:

  • Group Life Cover: Up to ANB 65
  • Lump Sum Disability: Earlier of 60 years or 5 years prior to NRA
  • Disability Income Benefit: Earlier of 60 years or 5 years prior to NRA
  • Trauma: Up to ANB 65

The conversion option is not offered in the following instances:

  • In respect of an insured when the Employer is transferring the members of the scheme to another arrangement which provides the same benefits.
  • This option is available to contract workers if selected and costed for at inception.
