Making sure our members are underwritten for their full potential benefits is a priority for us.

Kindly remind your clients to let you know once they have completed any medicals that have been requested. As soon as you receive confirmation of this please send us the relevant doctor’s name and contact details so that we can follow up and get the requested information to the underwriters as quickly as possible. This allows for underwriting to be completed effectively and efficiently.

Medical evidence is valid for 6 months with Sanlam and Hollard and 12 months with Old Mutual and Capital Alliance.

Should a member opt not to complete the medical evidence requested though, they will be asked to sign a declaration confirming this. This confirmation is as important as the medicals themselves as it gives a clear indication of the member’s intent and helps avoid conflict should a claim arise.

If a member does not want to provide medicals please chase confirmation of this as you would a medical.
