Important Reminder – Conversion options – maximum ages

A conversion option allows a member to effect individual insurance at withdrawal or retirement on group life, lump sum disability, disability income as well as trauma cover.

If this rider benefit has been selected, please take note of the maximum ages, per benefit, that can apply when converting:

Capital Alliance

  • Group Life Cover: Up to NRA
  • Lump Sum Disability: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Disability Income Benefit: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Trauma: 5 years prior to NRA

Hollard

  • Group Life Cover: Up to NRA
  • Lump Sum Disability: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Disability Income benefit: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Trauma: 5 years prior to NRA

Old Mutual

  • Group Life Cover: Up to age 70 (automatic if deferred age selected)
  • Lump Sum Disability: 10 years prior to NRA
  • Disability Income benefit: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Trauma: 10 years prior to NRA

Sanlam

  • Group Life Cover: Up to age 70 (if deferred age and option selected)
  • Lump Sum Disability: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Disability Income benefit: 5 years prior to NRA
  • Trauma: 5 years prior to NRA
