Reality Access for SGR – Process Change

Earlier this year we sent out a TSA Connect outlining the process for SGR members to access Reality Access for SGR – a loyalty program that was introduced by Sanlam.

Due to POPIA (1 July 2021) the employer can no longer facilitate the process by providing us with a letter confirming the members’ consent.  From July 2021, member’s contact information will not be shared with Sanlam Reality (the administrator of the SGR loyalty programme).  Only members’ ID and Passport numbers (as provided by the fund/employer) will be passed through to Sanlam Reality to pre-register and validate SGR members.

Members who want to access Discount Coupons and the IVY Online education platform must be directed to the Reality Access for SGR-webpage where they will be required to provide additional personal information, such as contact information.

1. How do members log in to update their contact details?

  • SGR member’s with ID numbers

Members who have been pre-registered using their ID numbers, are able to login onto Sanlam Reality’s website by means of a the “Basic Login” functionality.

Once they have logged in, they can view their Reality membership number (on the website) and update their contact details.

  • SGR member’s with Passport numbers

Members who have been pre-registered using their Passport numbers need to call the Sanlam Reality call centre on 0860 732 548/9 to confirm their Reality membership numbers to be able to login by means of the “Basic Login” functionality.

Once they have logged in, they can update their contact details.

Once contact information is updated, members will receive a welcome communication that will also confirm their Reality membership numbers (for safe-keeping and use).  It will take up to 48 hours for contact details to be updated on the system, whereafter members will be able to access the selection of discounted coupons.

2. How do members access the loyalty benefits if they do not want to update their contact details?

SGR members can call the Sanlam Reality call centre on 0860 732 548/9 (follow the voice prompts for “Reality Access for Sanlam Group Risk”) to access the Burial Repatriation & Funeral Support, Emergency Medical Response, Legal Assist and Trauma, Assault & HIV Assist services, as well as update their contact details to get access to the Grocery Discount Coupons.
