Definition:

Critical Illness benefit pays a lump sum when a specified critical event occurred. Critical Illness is an accelerator on the member’s GLA benefit, i.e. the GLA benefit will be reduced by the amount of the Critical Illness claim if the claim is admitted.

Options available:

Standard cover – A claim is payable only once in the event of a traumatic illness.

Waiting period:

1, 3, 6 or 12 month survival period if selected at inception.
