Rule 13 of the Policyholder Protection Rules (PPR’s) stipulates that an insurer must have data that is up-to-date, accurate, reliable, secure and complete. It goes on to say that an insurer must, at a minimum, have access to the names, identity numbers and contact details of all its policyholders. As a result, we require the following details of all staff members to be included on the monthly data that is submitted to TSA Administration:
1) First name and surname
2) ID Number
3) Cellphone number or personal email address.
If the cellphone or email address cannot be provided, the personal work email address can be provided.
All member information that is collected and stored will be securely managed in accordance with strict information and data governance frameworks, which will ensure compliance with the PPR’s. The PPR’s are there for the clients’ protection and benefits, so in all circumstances the data provided will be kept secure and not be used for any other reason, but for fair and lawful handling/processing.
Please ensure that the required information is included in monthly member data that is submitted in order for schemes to remain compliant. Please also note that the monthly premiums are due before the 15th of every month following the month of cover, i.e. in arrears, to ensure that cover is kept up to date and in place.
Thank you and regards,
The TSA Team
